Three representatives with diverse backgrounds (Chemistry, Engineering, Agriculture) from the agricultural industry sector will be presenting and answering questions, 1- 3 pm on Wednesday, October 14 in the Campanile Room, MU. See flier for full details. This event is open to all but provides a particularly good opportunity for graduate students and postdocs to gain insight into careers within the commercial sector. Feel free to come and go during the session as your schedule allows.

Presenters and topics:
John joined BASF in 2002 and is currently leading the Insect Molecular Genetics Team for Global Insecticide Research at BASF. He received his BA in Chemistry from Colorado College, MS in Physical Chemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Wyoming, followed by post-doctoral positions at The University of Texas at Dallas and the USDA.
John will be presenting on driving innovation and the globalization of insecticide research.
Razvan is Program Leader Hemiptera Control-Trait Research with Bayer CropScience. He graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree from Babes-Bolyai University, Romania and received his PhD from University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Biochemistry in 2005. In 2007 he joined Athenix Corp. as a research scientist. For the last 10 years he has worked on discovery and development of herbicide and insecticidal traits.

Nina joined DuPont Pioneer in 2009 and works in the Insect Control Discovery Group. This group works on the identification and development of new insect control leads. Nina received her BS (Conservation Biology) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and MS (Entomology and Microbiology) from Iowa State University.
Nina will present on careers at DuPont Pioneer.
